about.

US arena tour with Deftones as Screens Director, programmed on Disguise and grandMA3. The screen surfaces on this show, designed by Pixelmappers, consisted of three upstage walls each in a V layout, plus four flown banners in an X layout above the midstage on automation. All screens were Titan-X transparent video panel with lighting fixtures behind.

The biggest challenge on this show was that there was no timecode or MIDI from the artist to trigger content, so we used a shared session in grandMA3 cued by Oliver Hynds so that lights and video were synchronous. Worked closely with the lighting programmer and associate designer, Olly Martin, working within his file, with Olly assisting with video programming and profiles. Additionally, mapped lighting fixtures in Disguise and outputted the pixel map sACN to MA.

The show largely ran from a cue stack in MA triggering the transport control of cues in Disguise, in addition hits, screen brightness, colours and Notch parameters on buttons and FX. I also brought K2 tracking data in from automation that allowed me to track content to the X screens as they moved.

Collaborated with Alba Skottowe and editors to manage content, building workflows, handling the many deliverables & associated versioning, producing Adobe After Effects & Premiere templates and providing specifications for all content. Within After Effects created a 2.5D pre-vis to view edits in the 3D space, as well as distributing Adobe Media Encoder presets for exporting previews and Notch deliverables.

Partnered again with Aron Altmark of Visual Endeavors to specify a Notch block within the creative brief from Pixelmappers and then created a profile in grandMA3 with Olly Martin to sockpuppet in Disguise. These were exclusively IMAG effects which I then worked with the camera director, Jack Erdinger, to hone effects, crops and camera feeds used.
